Ancient theater
The Ancient Theater of Philippopolis is among the best-preserved ancient theaters in the world and among the main tourist attractions of Plovdiv.
The ancient theater of Philippopolis is located in the Old Town, on the southern slope of the Three Hills, in the saddle between Dzambaz Tepe and Taksim Tepe.
Singing fountains
The Singing Fountains in Plovdiv are located in the Tsar Simeon Garden, spread over an area of 6 acres. The water attraction attracts many people with a light show and a musical program. The water jets of the fountains are shot up to 20 meters high, and the melodies that sound from the water facility are mainly works by famous classics.
During the summer season, the program starts at 9:30 p.m., as the daylight hours are longer then.
Tsar Simeon's Garden
Tsar Simeon’s Garden is a public park in the center of the city of Plovdiv and is one of the favorite places for walking for Plovdiv residents. The garden has preserved some of its original architectural elements to this day – the large lake, the fountain of Demeter, the singing fountains, etc. The garden is a monument of park art.
The garden is located next to Central Square and is located west of it. At its southeastern end is the Military Club.
Roman Stadium
The Roman Stadium is located on the Main Pedestrian Street, between Sahat Tepe and Taksim Tepe. With the opening of the site, tourists have the opportunity to see all the exposed parts of the Roman Stadium – on the Roman Stadium Square, the archaeology under the Excelsior shopping center and the one under the H&M store.

The Old Town
The Architectural and Historical Reserve “Ancient Plovdiv” (also known as the Old Town) is located on three of the hills of Plovdiv – Nebet Tepe, Dzhambaz Tepe and Taksim Tepe, also known as the Three Hills, and covers an area of 35 km². It was formed as a result of continuous life in the city for centuries (from prehistoric times to the present day) and combines the spirit and architecture of Antiquity, the Middle Ages and the Bulgarian Renaissance. The Old Town is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Plovdiv.
Nebet Tepe, Sahat Tepe
The Plovdiv Hills are both a geological phenomenon, a natural landmark and a symbol of the city of Plovdiv, giving it a unique appearance and atmosphere.
Nebet Tepe is one of the six hills that have survived to this day, around which the city of Plovdiv was built.
Sahat Tepe is one of the six hills of the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv today.
Monument to the Red Army – Alyosha
The Monument to the Soviet Army (known as Alyosha) is a 10.5 m tall granite statue rising atop Bunardzhik Hill in Plovdiv.
This is the most famous Soviet monument in Bulgaria, although similar ones were erected in many other settlements during the period from 1944 to 1989. It is located in close proximity to the Monument of the Liberation of Plovdiv from Ottoman rule.
Episcopal Basilica of Philippopolis
The Episcopal Basilica of Philippopolis, also called the Great Basilica, is an early Christian temple in Plovdiv.
It dates back to the mid-4th century AD, functioning from the 4th to the 6th century, when it was probably the episcopal cathedral of the city. It is the largest early Christian temple discovered in Bulgaria and one of the largest on the Balkan Peninsula.
Historical museum
Natural History Museum
The Regional Museum of Natural History is the largest museum in Plovdiv.
The main halls display systematically arranged exhibits from all over the world. These are the halls: “Minerals”, “Paleontology” (a new hall built in 2016), “Botany”, “Invertebrates”, “Fish”, “Amphibians and Reptiles”, “Birds” and “Mammals”. The display cases are of expanded volume in order to recreate the habitats of the species as closely as possible.
Archaeological Museum
The Regional Archaeological Museum – Plovdiv (abbreviated RAM – Plovdiv) is a specialized museum for archaeology and history in Plovdiv. It is one of the oldest cultural institutions in Bulgaria. The museum was officially opened to the public in 1882, and its development went through the stage of an archaeological and numismatic cabinet, its separation as an archaeological museum in 1920 and its final transformation into the only regional archaeological museum in Bulgaria in 2006.
The Rowing Canal
The Rowing Center in Plovdiv is a sports facility designed for practicing the sport of rowing. It is located in the Recreation and Culture Park, next to the Plovdiv Stadium and the Plovdiv Zoo. It is the largest such facility in the Balkans, where rowing competitions can be held.
The rowing canal is one of the first additions to the Sports Complex in Plovdiv.

Markovo Tepe Mall is a shopping center in Plovdiv.
The mall has over 600 parking spaces, located on 4 underground levels, as well as an open parking lot.

Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary
“Assumption of the Virgin Mary” or “Holy Mother of God” is an Orthodox church in the Old Town of Plovdiv, a cathedral of the Plovdiv Diocese of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The temple holiday is August 15, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
At the place where the cathedral of the city of Plovdiv is located today, between the two hills of Dzhambaz Tepe and Teksim Tepe, there was a beautiful and majestic church back in the Middle Ages.
